Favorite Book Tropes

Second Chance Romance

Second Chance Romance is my favorite trope! Second Chance is when the lovers breakup either before the book starts or in the beginning of the book. The two characters then spend the book rekindling their relationship, typically focusing on forgiveness and growth.

Forced Proximity

Forced Proximity is when the two love interests are put in a situation that keeps them in an enclosed space together for a specific amount of time. Sometimes they can be roommates, the forced proximity being living in a house together. Sometime, they can be forced to share a hotel room together, even maybe sharing a bed. My favorite forced proximities are roommates!

Enemies to Lovers

Enemies to Lovers is when the two love interests start with a mutual hatred for each other which turns into love throughout the book. The tension and passion fueled by the hatred that starts the book off is the best part and then reading them slowly fall in love is amazing to watch. Reading the different ways that authors write these stories makes the trope top tier for me!

Friends to Lovers

Friends to Lovers is the story of two people that find a great friendship together, childhood friends is my personal favorite, and then after creating a great bond together, slowly fall in love. Watching the moment the lovers realize that they love each other deeper than friendship. The jealousy and tension are my favorite parts of the trope!

Slow Burn

Slow Burn is when the charaters slowly fall in love, typically not having confessing their love until the end of the book, at least 70%. Slow burn can be the best books because of the yearning that you witness throughout the book, the friendship they typically forge on the journey to romance, the jealousy when they're still figuring out their feelings for each other. When written properly, slow burns can be a 5 star book!
